CBD produksjon i Kate Perrys musikkstudio i California

by Monica Øien

You produce CBD? What exactly do you do?

I’m a state and city licensed manufacturer, distributor and recreational delivery services company, so I buy from farms and make their cannabis flowers into other products. We white label and have our own in-house brands as well.

A CBD Farmer would be one that primarily grows hemp or they may be licensed to grow low potency THC but high potency CBD Cannabis which is different from Hemp which in the United States the legal limit of “Hot Hemp” is 0.3%.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol is a phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940. It is one of 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant’s extract.

Why do we need CBD?

The body produces endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system. Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters.  Also, there is a rising use of CBD for medical conditions such as epilepsy, schizophrenia, chronic pain, sleep disorders, and symptoms of multiple sclerosis. Moreover, people suffering from chronic pain are now opting for CBD-based products to manage associated conditions,

Is CBD for everybody, kids included?

CBD is great for children, especially those with health conditions as it supports our natural endocannabinoid system

Who would you advise not to take CBD?

Personally, no one really.  However, people on medications should consider that similar to grapefruits, CBD can occupy enzymes (cytochrome p450) that your body uses to process certain pharmaceutical drugs. Taking CBD alongside these pharmaceuticals could pose a health risk by either increasing or decreasing levels of these medications in your bloodstream.

What is your mission?

Treat people the way I wish to be treated. Manufacture to the highest standards available. Test the product before and after  manufacturing  making certain only the purist forms are made available to the public.

Since I lived in Cali until 2017 it seems like the CBD industry has exploded. What are the facts?

Out of all cannabinoids, cannabidiol is most commonly used for medical purposes due to the absence of psychoactive effects. CBD oil is used in several medical applications such as treatment of anxiety and depression, stress relief, diabetes prevention, mitigation of pain, alleviation of cancer symptoms, and acne reduction. The global CBD market is anticipated to grow at a lucrative rate over the forecast period owing to the growing adoption of CBD-based products for treating various medical conditions.

How should one know whether the product is pure good and effective enough, any recommended checkpoints?

In the US QR quality codes are used with seed-to-sale of THC regulated products and it is the most heavily regulated market. However, quality matters: low-grade CBD oil may not offer the same levels of benefit offered by top rated CBD oil because of a variety of factors, and it could even potentially contain harmful toxins. In addition, many products are misleadingly labelled. You should never buy CBD on Amazon due to the amount of fake products there. Five of the most important factors when identifying high-quality CBD are: how it’s made, where and how the hemp was grown, and picking brands which offer third-party lab testing results. Other important factors include whether the product is a “full spectrum” extract, and the overall transparency and communication available from the brand.

It’s becoming quit a trend now. I visited London and Genova right before Christmas. I would see CBD facial treatments, chewing gum, CBD chocolate and massage oils.  Are this effective products or just gimmicks?

Chewing gum is great because if made properly it will keep the CBD in your mouth before swallowing.  Absolutely, on the chocolate!  Did you know Chocolate ignites the same receptor in our brain that THC does?  Also, massage oils are fine as long as they have a way to properly penetrate the epidermis.

But, many are gimmicks. Although, still better than NOT taking CBD.  In your coffee for example is kinda a scam because the CBD has to compete with the stomach acids and everything else, coffee, to be digested.  This is why when ingesting CBD it is best put into the bloodstream by way of the mouth glands.  Always hold the CBD oil in your mouth as long as you can, I try for 5 min, without major swallowing.  Otherwise, I know I am basically wasting it.

And do we need all these extra advantages?  I can only tell you I have seen people’s lives improve when they begin taking it.  Many are drastic improvements and what appears to be a prolonging of life.

What is trending right now?

Right now CBD gummies are trending.  We have a product called DOSED edibles which are infused with nano technology and we have gotten the formula just right that users end up chewing on the nano longer before digesting it and effects are felt within 30 min and last for four hours. Subsequently increasing product options such as skincare, cosmetics, haircare, intimate lubricants, pharmaceuticals, gummies, pills, infused beverages, and other products are also driving the market for cannabidiol.

What are you working on and what is next?

I am expanding relationships and partnerships with cannabis and hemp farmers, other distribution companies, manufacturers, dispensaries, land owners of locations for dispensaries and farms.

Would you consider working with norwegian doctors or health practitioners?

Absolutely, I would love more reasons to visit Norway.

Where do you see this industry in 5 years from now?

In five years I see cannabis federally regulated in the United States with reciprocity between other countries with the strictest guidelines ensuring we are not importing cannabis and hemp from places like China and the U.S.S.R., which have been reportedly exporting the plant material with unacceptable levels of pesticides and other harmful elements like cadmium.

And – the even ‘newer’ trend is mushrooms. Gwyneth Palthrow and GOOP even made their own test  and the story was distributed on Netflix. Why do we need them?

Mushrooms have been decriminalized for use in cities like Oakland, CA., where I was able to procure an ounce of Amazonian Mushrooms for $200.  I’m not sure if we “need” them per say, however, I feel like they help tremendously with things like healing traumas, PTSD, depression and anxiety.  The studies being done now are showing that one “hero’s dose” of mushrooms under the guidance of a licensed psychotherapist can alleviate symptoms of the above maladies with that one visit; Whereas without it, many people stay in therapy for years upon years.

What is the latest combining mushrooms and mental health/therapy?

All I know is there are a ton of articles written on the subject and many in the healing community in Santa Barbara are using magic mushrooms for their sanity during Covid-19 and to deal with the stress of everyday life or past traumas.  Personally, I have been partaking since February.  I bought an ounce for $200 from www.zidedoor.com in Oakland, CA. and for example, yesterday, I took two stems and two caps and  I enjoyed the day more than I would have had I not partaken of them. I have been feeling the weight of my mom’s age and health related issues on my shoulers and the mushrooms allowed me to reset, so to speak. There is no hangover, and the “trip” is not what everyone thinks.  I didn’t see anything that wasn’t there, just felt more connected with the earth and the people I was with.

Jeg er fremdeles personlig usikker på hva jeg mener. CBD var fint å prøve, men det gir ikke det store utslaget for meg. Personlig får jeg mer utbytte av daglige kalde dusjer, meditasjon og andre rutiner…

God uke:-)
